For the first time in nearly 5 years, thanks to David Herberg I had the chance to join another fabulous Lake Powell houseboat trip on the Wildwind II, with a crew of 4 other people. I launched my kayak 9 times for a total of over 20 hours and nearly 36 miles! Partly because it was too hot to hike much, just 4 outings, 7.5 hours, 9 miles, usually wearing wet clothing! I also washed a lot of dishes! I was happy being the nightly dishwasher while others cooked for me...
Despite 343 previous nights on the lake, this outing set at least three personal records! My longest trip ever at 10 nights (previously 8); hottest weather ever at 106 degrees some days (previous 103); and fewest locations moored, just 2, although twice in Ribbon Canyon at the same spot, bookending 5 successive nights in Forbidding Canyon downstream from Rainbow Bridge.
