I was approaching the Gap and South Gap Lake (just beyond the next rise), and look, there are two other kindred spirits hiking off-trail ahead of me! (One is hard to spot to the left above center.) Not that I caught up with or talked with either of them.

It took me an hour from the Sugarloaf/MedBow saddle to the southwest end of the lake, and 40 more minutes to carefully traverse the west side north to the Gap.
