After taking a shower and leaving Clayton SP, I spent about an hour near the 1909 courthouse and later the visitor center (closed) in the town of Clayton studying forecasts and maps... Decided I probably must abandon my plans for Texas and go (farther) to Arkansas instead, but the fork point was some miles and hours away, in fact after lunch in Dalhart, TX.
