Once upon a time after months, weeks, and days of debating it, I started packing the camper van for a long solo trip, and left at 9 am the next morning for Texas -- make that Arkansas (grin) -- for 8 nights, 2246 miles, away from home on a major adventure! Including my fourth total solar eclipse (including one that was clouded out on Hawai'i in 1991).
In hindsight I was glad I went, but realized it wouldn't have been worth the huge drive just to see the eclipse, even though totality lasted over 4 minutes. But with about 20 other "memorable highlights" listed when I got home, it was an epic outing!
