I/we took a nice little (4.5 hour, 4.8 mile) up Sullivan Gulch -- west
of Drake in the Big Thompson Canyon between Estes Park and Loveland, CO,
on the southeast flank of Crosier Mountain -- with long cross-country
segments over to part of the Crosier trail and back. A memorable and
scenic highlight was a huge balanced boulder perched on a ridge on the
way back off-trail.
I didn't even know this hike existed... Ed Ogle clued me to it recently
with a Facebook posting. The trailhead 2.2 mi west of Drake is small
and unmarked until you start up the route on foot, easy to not notice
driving by.
