While at the cabin this time, I made 6 "forays" out to work on hauling and burning (or later just piling for next time) mounds of slash wood (branches piled up to dry out and lose their needles), and also sifting pine needles through a screen to eventually take home as garden mulch (but my buckets were full). Before leaving I took some status photos, including this one showing the pending pine needle pile.
Over the last 6 cabin visits, burning a legal campfire each time, I managed to knock 10 slash piles down to just 4, of which 1 is already staged near the fire pit.
