This shows old tar seal from last summer, after the roof was replaced, right above where the dripping leak appeared in the attic in early April. I thought maybe the tar didn't reach the chimney cone-to-flashing seam, and the water was running below that, but seemed very solid when I dug it out, so we'll see.
