On September 7, 1986 I climbed Colorado Fourteener #54, my last one, El Diente Peak. It took nine years, and a lot of dedicated effort that summer (21 peaks), but now I'd been on top of them all.

(Back then I wrote:) Seven trip reports are not yet written. I'll finish and post them here as time permits. Each of the last three weekends I've taken off four days for climbing:

• 11800' in three climbing days: A failed attempt on Mount Lindsey; a long day on Culebra Peak including getting lost in clouds coming down; and a successful but long climb of Lindsey.

• 9850' in three climbing days -- Kit Carson Mountain, Crestone Peak, and Crestone Needle. (Yeah I skipped that nasty traverse.)

• 4920' in one day -- finishing up alone on El Diente Peak.

Apparently I didn't post anything about the first, failed attempt on Lindsey. My records say I climbed 2400' to 12800' that day, getting lost in clouds, before giving up. Next I went to Culebra Peak.
