View south out the window of the van upon arriving at "Lake Meredith Reservoir", a huge (1-2 x 5 mi), shallow (6') "inland sea" on the plains east of Pueblo. This was after hiking earlier at Paint Mines Park. It had been a long day driving, so I was happy to "make (primitive) camp" here for the night even though it was kind of blah, but with good access to the water in the morning.

Boating in Colorado, in October? Yeah, really! I picked a decent weather window for this 3-night camping trip, and launched 3 times in 3 days on 3 different lakes for over 8 hours and nearly 15 miles total. It was a bit chilly, but safe and pleasant enough.
