Next morning rather than carry the kayak about 0.3 mi to the lakeshore, I drove down the upper ramp and then carefully across the firm/rocky exposed shoreline. The lake was at 4587' down 48' from full, typical for this time of year, meaning relatively quiet (only one working boat ramp anywhere) and with lots of exposed rocks for (legal) hounding. Laramie Peak was barely visible to the west through haze.
