The mulch smelled really good, but then I realized it's basically a compost pile, quite fresh and damp, and it could... Catch fire! I had to do something with all of it before we could leave. Most of it was spread no more than about 4" deep along maybe 150' of the driveway loop in both directions.

This is the next afternoon after 75(!) wheelbarrow loads plus a lot of scattercasting in the area, running about 10 loads at a time (15 shovel fulls each), taking breaks, and desperately trying to get it all done so we could leave in the evening. And we did, after a total of about 99 wheelbarrow loads. But we didn't depart until after 6 pm!
