After several years considering how best to do it, I finally installed a camera under an eave high on the west side of the house, routing the power wire through "smurf tube" until entering a wall to reach an existing plug -- thereby avoiding working in the attic to run a new outlet up to the eave. This is after painting the wires to match the house.
