Many years ago Cathie learned to play piano on her grandmother Nell's upright. Many years later her brother Bill inherited it, and even later he moved it outdoors onto a porch, where it sat in the rain for maybe a decade. It was ruined, and it went into a dumpster on Balsam Street in Lakewood, but first I managed to pull out some of the wire strikers, from which I created this decoration that now hangs in the condo.
