The dense, colorful banded iron formation (BIF) rocks only found low on the peninsula, but still well above the current river level, must have been dropped here megayears ago from a formation that I think is now completely eroded away. It doesn't appear that these rocks did, or still do, weather down from Bradley Peak outcrops a few miles to the west.
