Much later (about 3.5 hours) that evening, 10 miles east downhill from the Sugarloaf area and then 17 slow gravel miles north, this was the closest I could park and camp to Sand Lake (note person in front of lake), so I gave up on staying here and carrying the kayak down in the morning. Instead I camped nearby in a park/restroom lot.
