The van (barely) made it up the long rough road to here at 11700', where most of the surrounding trees were bristlecone pines. Southeast in the distance were the Buffalo Peaks and Black Mountain (upper left), home of the oldest bristlecone pines in the Rocky Mountains (~2500 years). These here topped out at "just" ~1000 years.
