Over 3 hours since entering Kansas, more mellow driving with many stops, including detouring around the east side of Tulsa during rush hour... Calling ahead I couldn't find a good place (other than a Walmart) to camp near Wichita, so instead I made tracks to El Dorado State Park to the east. I got there with 10 min to spare before sunset only to encounter some of the worst state (park) techno-beauracracy ever, trying to pay for a campsite. I ended up here on a lovely evening in a deserted campground with just one neighbor, and still hadn't found a way to pay my $10! Until the next morning on the way out.
