After a shower and leaving camp, I drove a few miles into the town of Hot Springs proper, only to find it packed with cars and people, and nowhere to park on Bathhouse Row (which I recognized from photos). I nearly gave up and kept going, but then found an open spot at a parking meter that turned out to be 0.6 mi from the NPS visitor center.

What the heck, I fed the meter for two hours and took off on foot, wearing sandals and carrying a cellphone, but that was it! Fortunately it never rained on me. And for the first part, I went uphill on some gorgeous trails before dropping back down to the far end of Bathhouse Row.
