Over many years my sister Lori digitized photos and other memorabilia in 30 big physical photo albums. This was the front side of the very last picture in the very last album -- and the next image is what was written on the back!

So Dad stopped shooting slides around 1977, and apparently photographs around 1999 (or at least stopped putting them in albums), and then -- went digital soon after that?
