The previous fall I bought a bag of tired old daffodil bulbs on a closeout sale, tossed the dead ones, planted many outside for next spring, plus 4 in tubs in the basement, where 2 of them bloomed. This second flower looked likely to be done while we were gone to Florida for 9 nights, but was still in great shape upon our return.
