My daughter Megan has many allergies and a high blood tryptase reading. She suggested I get mine tested (for the first time), I did, and it was also high, like 17 where 5 is normal. This led to a long, painful visit to an allergist where I discovered "I'm lucky to be alive", because I'm definitely allergic to four kinds of wasp venom (but not bees), which is why I always had LLRs = large localized reactions. So now I carry around EpiPens(!) whenever there's a risk (sigh).
