I explored three routes at this point, and this was the only one possible (other than an alleged bypass further upstream). I took off my pack and played with it, but decided, nah, it's just a little too hard, and I really don't care about going farther this morning. I'll head back, and save some time and energy for later in the day.

This is probably the spot where Kevin Keirn told me years ago, when he recommended Crack Canyon, that I would "have no trouble." If I were younger, lighter, and stronger (sarcopenia is a real thing), he'd be right.
