I was able to glide almost all the way down if I stayed in the tracks, which sounds great but was surprisingly difficult because of being tired. "Knees bent, legs apart, weight and hands forward, remember to breathe!" I could only keep this up for a hundred yards at a time before resting -- or losing my balance and falling over -- about six times total on the way down. Three-pin ski bindings don't give much control.
