Long snowy solo hike in Horsetooth Mountain Open Space west of Fort Collins... Lots of mud, ice, and snow, but never needed the Yaktrax I carried (new hiking boots meant great traction). I surprised myself by covering 9.6 mi and 2000' of gain in 6 hours, and not feeling too lousy the next day either (grin).
