I picked up Rob Pickett and drove up the Poudre Canyon, 69 mi and over 1.5 hours from home, to cross-country ski a little. It was a lovely warm-before-the-storm day, albeit with old/icy snow. We parked at Blue Lake trailhead (small green circle), went up Sawmill first 1.7 mi to the fork (another green circle) and back, had lunch at the car, then 2.0 mi up Blue Lake trail to a nice viewpoint (third circle), for a total of nearly 6 hours out.
