Oops, hit a boggy, icy patch where I had to carefully detour around a pond and find my way across to the hill on the left. This is where Sandbeach Creek turns from south to east, and I left it behind. Kept watching out for moose, who love boggy willows, but probably it was already too late in the season for them up here.
