Cathie moved into 4018 Sunstone Drive in 2000. Within a few years, I pulled up all the gravel on the northwest side of the house, which had no barrier below it, tried to separate it from mud, and put it back down over plastic.
Well a couple of decades later, mud was showing up between the rocks, weeds were more abundant, and worst of all, the (now automatic) gate wouldn't swing open on cold winter days with frost heaving of the ground. So I embarked on what turned out to be a long, demanding project to dig it up again, wash the mud (really sticky clay) off the rocks using a sieve, and redo it better.
This view is after days of work just digging up the rocks from the area you see, before putting down new plastic and washing and replacing the gravel.
