On my actual 62nd birthday, the weather was nice enough for a long bike ride across town to the Forest Service office to buy my senior lifetime parks pass. It being, as is often the case, the first day back to work after the holidays, the rangers on duty were more blah than amused. And of course, now three months later as I write this, I still haven't used my new pass for the first time.
