After 17 years in her house, Cathie decided it would be nice to block at least one of the west-facing arch windows during brutal summer afternoons. This is the solution we came up with: She stitched up a quilt, we attached it to a crossbar, I installed hooks and nails on the wall, and we bought a couple of golf ball retriever extension poles (!) at Walmart we can use to hang and remove it without hauling the 10' ladder into the house.
