Approximately what we saw through cheap mylar sunshades -- with lots of glare -- 55 minutes before totality. My #14 welder's glass gave a sharper view, but turned the sun green.

I remarked to the others that one special aspect of being close to the centerline was that the encroaching crescent of the moon would inexorably grow (and later shrink away) "straight across" the center of the sun.
