(9:50) Linda, Jim, and Cathie ready with front-row seats. After breakfast down below, we hiked up to our chosen spot, including about 25 minutes and one rattlesnake. We were set for the adventure about half an hour before the moon's edge first appeared before the sun, but the wind was strong and I kept busy a while gathering more rocks to hold down the tarps.

This is a view southeasterly. Note the shadows, the sun was high in the sky in that direction.
