Eclipse day finally arrived! After months of enjoyable (for me anyway) ramping up, exploring, and myriad conversations. I considered all of that total experience to be the ice cream sundae, and the actual event to be the cherry on top, "if it's not cloudy" -- which it blessedly was not, for us and across most of the country. Unfortunately around Glendo, Wyoming, it was hazy from distant forest fires.
My pictures during totality aren't the greatest because I took them on my old digital camera instead of my whizzy new cellphone... Which I mounted on a tripod and dedicated to taking a "witness video" that is interesting but not really very attractive.
At our location, partial eclipse began at 10:24 am MDT (although we were already on our hilltop by about 9:30 and stayed until 12:40), totality was 11:44:51 - 11:47:19, and partial ended around 1:12 pm, by which time we were already "back at the ranch."
