This pond is one of many worked-out gravel mines in the Fort Collins area along the Poudre River. In fact it's just north of Harmony Road (busy with traffic right behind me when I took this picture), and close to I-25. I'd wanted to paddle around it for some time, finally did, and it only took 1.5 very leisurely hours.
