This pretty plant in the pea family is native to at least Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico. It grows at 10,100' at Cathie's cabin, and we've transplanted it to Fort Collins. But I never expected to see it growing wild on section 11!
It was in a grassy dry creek area that I seldom enter or cross because there are no rocks there, and a small risk of snakes too. Plus it only blooms for a few weeks every year, so I might have missed it in the past.
