In the afternoon we obtained a sweet campsite at Abiquiu Lake, NM, and then I paddled across and back. It was a bit windy going 45 degrees into the waves for 32 minutes and 1.2 miles across, but no big deal, just longer than I expected. Then on the far shore the wind really started howling, 30-40 I would guess. Note the whitecaps.
