For the first time in three years (had it really been that long?), I went for another hike of Horsetooth Mountain, 7255', west of Fort Collins, CO; my 33rd visit to the top according to my log. It was an absolutely perfect weather day you could not improve: Low 70s, mild breezes, no bugs, mostly dry trails, just patches of snow.
I went the long way, via Horsetooth Falls, then the Spring Creek and Wathen trails, hence 3 hours to the south tooth; 6.0 hours round-trip, about 7.2 miles, returning to the car by full moonlight.
