Wow, I managed to load the BIF boulder into the raft without destroying the latter! Wasn't easy though, lots of groaning and straining, and it took two tries.
I partially deflated the raft, put a tarp under it, positioned it carefully, pre-placed the folded quilt inside it, rolled the boulder aboard, and managed to get it unstuck and floating without obvious damage. Then I blew it back up as full as I could before taking this picture.
I could not get the rock to slide forward a few inches, which would have made it a lot easier to tow back.
Note how the tow line attaches to a little blue circle on the front of the raft... More on that later.
