Cathie and I spent a very pleasant and busy couple of nights up at her cabin over the Labor Day weekend. To our surprise the aspen were already starting to change.
We drove my truck, arrived before dark Saturday evening, and headed down to Lakewood (her mom's house) a bit after 2 pm on Monday. In between, we: Rolled out the trailer, cleaned and reorganized the bedroom and closet, pumped up the trailer tires, jacked it up and spun the wheels, and put it back; converted an old generator box to a new, bigger, more solid firewood box loadable from the outside; helped Jerry (who visited from Boulder for a few hours) load up his truck and trailer with more "free firewood", knocking down our pile; unloaded my pickup truck load of "barnwood" recently cut to lengths for future wainscotting in the bedroom; chainsawed a lot of logs and firewood, including taking down two big dead trees; and installed birdhouses on the hammock stumps.
