The Fort Collins Rockhounds Club ran a Saturday field trip to private ranch land southeast of Grand Encampment, Wyoming. It turned out to be a large group, over 20 people including many from the Cheyenne club, and a very nice day; clear, warm, and breezy. Rockhounding commenced at about 10:45 am, on a hilltop about 300' above the North Platte River.

That evening some folks continued on to Rawlins and other points. I did my own thing around Saratoga (north of Encampment), lost track of the group, camped out alone near Saratoga, and explored that area on Sunday. Also dipped twice in the (very hot) Hobo Hot Spring pool in town.
