On Sunday I did a lot of exploring and rockhounding around the area north of Saratoga. Found some nice moss agates in two places, and some gemmy petrified wood in one little "secret stash" I know about that produces maybe a gallon every five years, but hardly anything else, anywhere else. A lot of rocks, but mostly boring quartzite, granitics, metamorphics. Anyway this is the view south from a hilltop on a back-country county road. The town of Saratoga is below the water towers on the far right.
