One morning before work (for him -- I was laid off as of May 29), Mark Hammer wanted to hike in Horsetooth Mountain Park for exercise, and he invited me to join him. We did a fast hike with about 1500' gain, from the Soderberg trailhead to the radio towers on the ridge north of Horsetooth Rock, about 3:30 round trip starting at 7:20 am or so.
We hiked up the Towers Road (4WD access), which was nicer than it sounds, with a section of the Spring Canyon trail on the way down. We saw hardly anyone else. It was overcast, foggy, cool, wet, and green, with many flowers (although fewer than on Bobcat Ridge the previous Friday).
