Cathie and I visited her cabin for the third time this year. We came armed with three gallons of stain, rollers, and brushes. Also upon arrival at 4:30 pm Saturday, we saw that without a doubt, at least two of the lodgepole pines attacked by beetles were dying, and should come down as soon as possible.

During the next very busy 26 hours, we stained one side of the cabin, which took about 3.5 hours including prep and cleanup. We also dropped, chopped, and mostly hauled away two of the dying trees, leaving 6' tall stumps for hanging the hammock. I also built another big bonfire Saturday night and burned off the branches from the first tree.
