On a lovely spring day in west Denver, Cathie and I took a hike along the top of "Dinosaur Ridge". It was a total of 2.2 miles from the parking lot at the southeast corner of I70 and Highway 93, south to where the trail drops to the asphalt and Alameda Avenue (now closed to traffic) cuts over the top of the ridge. This took us 1:45 without rushing. The views were wonderful, even for an urban outing.
At the roadcut we split up. She walked downhill half a mile or so on the east side to the Dinosaur Ridge Visitor Center while I went nearly two miles down and then back up (around 300' of gain) along the roads to retrieve the car. That took 0:40 more, so I was out 2:50 total. Five right turns later, I met her at the DRVC parking lot.
